Job Description: Area Credit Manager (Retail Lending)
Position: Area Credit Manager (ACM)
Location: Visakhapatnam (Vizag)
Department: Credit
Reporting To: Regional Credit Manager
Role Purpose
To oversee and manage the credit underwriting function for the assigned geography, ensuring quality portfolio growth, adherence to credit policies, and timely approval of retail lending proposals while maintaining portfolio health and risk standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage credit appraisal and underwriting for Retail Secured products such as Home Loans, LAP, SME, and Mortgage Loans across the assigned area.
Analyze financial statements, banking behavior, business cash flows, income documents, and credit bureau reports.
Ensure thorough assessment of customer eligibility, repayment capacity, and collateral quality.
Maintain TAT for login scrutiny, credit evaluation, and approval processes.
Conduct personal discussions and field investigations wherever required.
Monitor portfolio quality and initiate corrective actions to control delinquency and credit losses.
Support business teams in achieving disbursement targets without compromising credit quality.
Review deviations and recommend suitable risk mitigation measures.
Guide and mentor Credit Managers, Credit Officers, and field credit teams.
Coordinate with Legal, Technical, Operations, Sales, and Collection teams for smooth processing.
Ensure compliance with internal credit policies, regulatory guidelines, and audit requirements.
Prepare periodic MIS reports and portfolio analysis for management review.

Eligibility Criteria
Graduate in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
MBA (Finance) / CA Inter preferred.
6 to 10 years of experience in Credit Underwriting for Retail Assets.
Minimum 2 to 3 years of team handling experience.
Strong understanding of financial analysis, risk assessment, and collateral evaluation.
