Role
Seeking an experienced Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) Database Administrator to lead and support technical upgrade activities as part of our Oracle EBS 12.1.3 to 12.2.14 (or latest) migration program.
The ideal candidate combines deep Oracle DBA expertise with hands-on experience executing EBS technical upgrades and brings sufficient functional grounding in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Financials modules to effectively support cross-functional upgrade, retrofit, and testing activities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end upgrade of Oracle E-Business Suite from R12.1.3 to R12.2.14 (or latest version), including readiness assessments, upgrade execution, and post-upgrade validation.
Implement and configure Oracle R12.2 Online Patching (ADOP) architecture.
Perform Oracle database administration activities, including installation, patching, cloning, backup and recovery, performance tuning, and capacity planning across Production, Test, and Development environments.
Upgrade and support Oracle components such as BI Publisher, Oracle APEX, and Enterprise Command Center (ECC) Foundation.
Coordinate and execute CEMLI (Configuration, Extension, Modification, Localization, and Integration) retrofit activities in collaboration with functional and development teams.
Establish performance baselines and conduct pre- and post-upgrade performance testing and analysis.
Implement security best practices, including Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPU), data encryption, database hardening, and failover configurations using Data Guard and RAC.
Support Single Sign-On (SSO) and Identity & Access Management (IAM) integrations from a technical and database infrastructure perspective.
Collaborate with Financials and SCM teams to understand module dependencies and resolve upgrade-related technical issues.
Participate in functional, integration, regression, and performance testing cycles, providing technical troubleshooting and defect resolution.
Support Hypercare activities and post-go-live stabilization efforts.
Create and maintain technical documentation, upgrade runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge transfer materials.
Required Qualifications
8-10 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience, with at least one full-cycle EBS technical upgrade from R12.1.x to R12.2.x (12.2.14 or latest strongly preferred)
Strong working knowledge of Oracle EBS 12.2 architecture, including Online Patching (ADOP), Weblogic Server (WLS), and dual file system concepts
Proficiency in Oracle Database administration (11g/12c/19c as applicable) installation, patching, performance tuning, backup/recovery (RMAN), and troubleshooting.
Practical, working level understanding of Oracle EBS SCM modules (Order Management, Procurement, Inventory & Financials)
Experience with BI Publisher upgrade/configuration and Oracle APEX installation
Familiarity with Oracle Application Management Suite/Pack (AMS/AMP) for monitoring and incident management. Experience applying Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs) and general security hardening practices.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills across database, application, and integration layers
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with SSO/IAM integration for Oracle EBS.
Experience supporting global, multi-ledger, multi-site EBS environments.
Familiarity with Oracle Unified Method (OUM) or similar structured upgrade/implementation methodology.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into business-relevant impact for functional and business stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively in a structured, phase-gated delivery environment (Assessment Build Test Cutover Hypercare).
Strong collaboration skills across DBA, functional, development, and infrastructure teams
