Job Summary:
The Executive Web Services Lead will build Nonprofit Megaphone’s Web Services offering from the ground up and own its development, launch, delivery, and ongoing growth.
Initially, you will personally manage and deliver website projects for early clients while developing the processes, systems, standards, and client experience that will become the foundation of the service. As demand grows, you will transition the offering into a scalable operation supported by a trained team.
This position combines web strategy and delivery, client relationship management, project management, process development, leadership, and business growth. The ideal candidate is highly self-directed, comfortable with significant ownership, able to turn an idea into a repeatable service, and motivated by measurable results.
This role reports directly to the CEO / Integrator.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Build NPM’s Web Services offering: Turn the concept of Web Services into a repeatable, client-ready service with defined scope, deliverables, timelines, standards, and measurable outcomes.
Personally deliver early website projects: Manage and execute website projects for initial clients while the service model is established and refined.
Create an exceptional client experience: Serve as the primary point of contact for Web Services clients, establish clear expectations, maintain strong communication, and keep projects moving.
Translate client needs into website strategy: Understand each organization’s goals and convert them into clear project plans, deliverables, timelines, recommendations, and next steps.
Develop repeatable systems and processes: Build and document the Web Services workflow from discovery and scoping through build, review, launch, and post-launch handoff.
Establish tools and standards: Select and refine the tools, templates, systems, project-management processes, SOPs, checklists, and resources needed to deliver projects consistently.
Own quality control: Ensure websites meet NPM standards for professionalism, functionality, quality, and client readiness.
Drive Web Services growth: Partner with NPM leadership to identify early clients, refine the offering, generate recurring revenue, and grow the service according to established milestones.
Learn from early projects: Use client feedback and delivery experience to identify bottlenecks, risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve the offering.
Track performance and results: Monitor growth, client acquisition, recurring revenue, project performance, client feedback, and service-development needs.
Prepare the service to scale: Develop a strategy for future capacity, staffing, training, workflows, and quality-control processes.
Build and develop the Web Services team: As demand grows, recruit and/or train team members to consistently deliver work according to NPM standards.
Operate with ownership: Work independently and proactively, solve problems without step-by-step direction, and maintain strong organization and follow-through.
Continually improve: Look for ways to strengthen client results, improve efficiency, enhance the offering, and responsibly grow the service.
Qualifications:
Website development and delivery experience: Demonstrated experience building, managing, launching, or overseeing professional website projects.
Strong understanding of the website lifecycle: Comfortable managing projects from discovery and scoping through development, revisions, launch, and post-launch support.
Service-building mindset: Able to turn an early-stage concept into a structured, repeatable, scalable service.
Entrepreneurial ownership: Comfortable with autonomy, taking initiative, solving ambiguous problems, and being accountable for outcomes.
Client relationship skills: Experience leading client conversations, gathering requirements, managing expectations, navigating feedback, and delivering an excellent client experience.
Project management: Highly organized and capable of managing multiple client deadlines, internal priorities, deliverables, and follow-up.
Process development: Able to create effective SOPs, workflows, documentation, checklists, templates, and quality-control processes.
Business and growth orientation: Comfortable being accountable for delivery quality, client acquisition, recurring revenue, and overall service growth.
Leadership potential: Able to develop systems that can be taught to others and eventually recruit, train, and oversee team members.
Exceptional communication: Strong English grammar and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Tech-savvy mindset: Comfortable learning website platforms, digital tools, project-management systems, and new technology.
Independent problem-solving: Resourceful and able to evaluate challenges, make thoughtful decisions, and move work forward without extensive direction.
Adaptability: Comfortable in an evolving role where responsibilities and processes will develop as the service grows.
Receptive to feedback: Open to coaching, constructive criticism, experimentation, and ongoing development.
Values-driven team member: Embodies NPM’s core values: Growth Champion, Results, Always Honorable, No Drama (Llama), and Team Player.
Tech Requirements:
A quiet, distraction-free environment for Zoom calls and client meetings.
A computer with a functional webcam and headset or headphones.
Reliable, high-speed internet connectivity.
Comfort working independently with web-based tools and project-management software in a fully remote environment.
