Summary
This position is responsible for developing, producing, and submitting proposals that adhere to strict timelines and quality standards. The position is also responsible for identifying RFPs that are consistent with HSAG’s lines of work, including Medicaid, Medicare, and private consulting projects.
Essential Competencies, Duties And Responsibilities
Direct and manage the RFP process in order to maintain current contracts that are up for renewal and to support the development of new business aligned with HSAG’s strategic initiatives.
Ensure that all key RFP and proposal milestones and timelines are met, that the proposal is responsive to the requirements set out in the RFP, and that the response is produced in a timely manner
Analyze RFPs for requirements
Develop timelines and templates for proposal responses
Coordinate the writing, editing, and review of material from other RFP writers and subject matter experts
Conduct compliance reviews to ensure responses meet RFP requirements and that they are consistent and read with one voice
Write and edit transmittal letters, letters of intent, executive summaries, corporate background, past performance, biographies, resumes, and other sections of the responses
Prepare reference documents
Compile all proposal documents for submission
Conduct the final review of the response for submission, including editorial review and formatting
Submit proposal responses
Identify RFPs that align with HSAG’s lines of business. Evaluate and summarize opportunities
Represent HSAG in a professional manner, at all times
Additional Tasks
Be available throughout all phases of the RFP response process.
Work to continually improve the RFP Department’s process for producing quality RFPs in an efficient and responsive manner. This includes, but is not limited to, organizing a library of resource materials; maintaining an up-to-date and complete compendium of HSAG’s expertise and experience in its various lines of work; maintaining databases; and composing/updating staff resumes and bios
Project deadlines may necessitate occasional extended work hours
Education and/or Experience
College degree required, advanced degree preferred
Experience writing and producing RFP responses in health care or a related field. A minimum of three years of direct RFP experience required.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines under time constraints and changing environments
Experience reading technical documents, requirements, and instructions and communicating requirements in a concise manner that can be easily translated into actionable activities and deliverables
Other Qualifications
Knowledge and experience using advanced reasoning to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
Ability to design, implement, and manage appropriate action plans
Expertise in Microsoft Office software (Word, Visio, Outlook) and Adobe; knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; ability to navigate and perform research via the Internet; experience with the use of AI such as CoPilot.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with others in a team setting
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
