Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced IT Financial Analyst to support technology financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, spend analysis, chargebacks, and cost optimization. This role will partner closely with IT leadership and business stakeholders to provide financial visibility, identify variances and trends, support investment decisions, and improve management of technology costs across software, cloud, vendors, and managed services.
Key Responsibilities
Support annual IT budgeting, quarterly forecasting, monthly close, and financial reporting processes.
Track technology spend against budget, analyze variances, and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop and maintain financial models, dashboards, KPIs, and executive-level reporting.
Analyze IT expenses across software licensing, cloud consumption, managed services, infrastructure, and technology vendors.
Support IT chargeback, cost allocation, and cost-recovery processes across business units.
Partner with IT leaders to develop budgets, monitor financial performance, and support technology investment planning.
Assist with vendor spend analysis, contract renewals, purchase commitments, and ongoing expense management.
Identify opportunities to optimize technology spending and improve cost visibility and accountability.
Reconcile financial data across IT systems, invoices, purchase orders, and financial reporting platforms.
Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial analyses for IT leadership and other stakeholders.
Support financial planning for projects, initiatives, and technology investments, including tracking actuals versus forecasts.
Collaborate with Finance, Procurement, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Establish and improve reporting processes, documentation, and financial controls related to IT spending.
Required Qualifications
3+ years of experience in IT financial analysis, technology finance, FP&A, or a related financial management role.
Experience supporting an IT organization and managing or analyzing technology budgets.
Strong Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, lookups, data analysis, and reporting.
Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and monthly financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
Experience developing dashboards, KPIs, and management reporting.
Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IT Financial Management (ITFM) or Technology Business Management (TBM).
Understanding of software licensing, SaaS, cloud consumption, infrastructure, and managed services costs.
Experience with IT chargebacks, cost allocations, or showback models.
Experience supporting technology vendor management and contract spend analysis.
Familiarity with financial systems, ERP platforms, Power BI, or similar reporting/analytics tools.
Experience working with global or multinational IT organizations.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
