Senior Business Analysis - Finance (Virtual)

About The Position
A Senior Business Analyst, Finance is the primary liaison with business and IT partners to evaluate the needs of the most complex finance business systems and to provide recommendations on system solutions or procedures. A Senior Business Analyst, Finance ensures the scope of work requested to enhance or modify existing application processes is clearly documented, communicated and validated while working closely with IT experts to design, develop, test and validate solutions that meet the business requirements.
Primary Accountabilities
As the primary liaison and point of contact between IT and the assigned functional business area(s) for routine software development and enhancement projects; develop comprehensive project plan for large-scale projects; prepare and facilitate status meetings and reports; manage resources in accordance with project schedule.
Create detailed documentation of functional business processes, including business case, as-is and to-be process flow diagrams, report specifications, functional requirements, and data mapping and flow diagrams.
Perform research and analysis for proposed projects to determine feasibility, return on investment (ROI), level of effort and durability; present findings and recommendations to management.
Define testing requirements, including regression, user acceptance and other tests as needed, staging data and perform final test execution to ensure business needs are met; support quality assurance and control efforts via data analysis during pre- and post-implementation reviews of software development projects.
Interface and develop strong working relationships with internal and external team members to understand and resolve their requests.
Perform other duties as assigned or apparent.

What You Bring To The Table
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or technology related field and five (5) years of relevant experience in a business analyst capacity; OR
High School Diploma or Equivalent and nine (9) years of relevant experience in a business analyst capacity
Additional Qualifications
An understanding of the business and the information systems used to manage related information
Five (5) years of relevant work experience in the business analyst capacity
Proven experience in project management, status tracking and organizing business analysis documentation for projects
Demonstrated knowledge of the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
Ability to periodically work some nights, weekend or on call
Experience in the Higher Education Industry
Understanding of how data is transferred between systems using relevant technologies such as interface files, HTTP calls
Process and results oriented in setting and pursuing aggressive goals, demonstrating a strong commitment to organizational success and leading resources to accomplish goals and objectives
Ability to manage projects, monitor and implement projects effectively
Strong documentation and communication skills
Strong problem solving, time management and organizational skills
Ability to write and run SQL queries
Possesses understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design
Able to articulate the understanding of Waterfall and Agile SCRUM software development lifecycle
