About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Cost Manager (MEP) to support the delivery of large-scale industrial and advanced manufacturing developments. This role will be responsible for managing the commercial and cost management functions of mission-critical projects involving complex MEP systems, utilities infrastructure, production facilities, and high-specification manufacturing environments.
Candidates from both MEP and CSA backgrounds are encouraged to apply, provided they possess strong commercial acumen, contract administration experience, and a proven track record in managing major construction packages.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract
Prepare and review cost plans, estimates, procurement budgets, and commercial assessments.
Lead tendering activities including RFQ preparation, tender analysis, commercial evaluations, and award recommendations.
Conduct value engineering and cost optimization exercises to achieve project objectives.
Support procurement strategies for major construction and engineering packages.
Post-Contract
Administer contracts and manage the commercial performance of project packages.
Review and assess progress claims, variation orders, change requests, and final accounts.
Monitor project budgets, forecasts, commitments, and cost-to-complete analysis.
Manage contractual correspondence and support dispute avoidance initiatives.
Provide accurate monthly commercial and cost reports to project leadership.
Commercial & Contract Management
Lead cost control and risk management activities throughout the project lifecycle.
Evaluate and negotiate contractor and supplier claims.
Support EOT, Loss & Expense, and commercial entitlement assessments where applicable.
Ensure compliance with contractual requirements and internal governance processes.
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with project directors, engineers, consultants, contractors, and client representatives.
Participate in commercial reviews, project meetings, and strategic planning discussions.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development.
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Construction Management, or related discipline.
5–10 years’ experience in cost management within construction or industrial projects.
Experience in semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, data centre, or mission‑critical projects is strongly preferred.
Previous experience in a cost consultancy or professional services environment is highly preferred.
Experience handling CSA and/or MEP packages within complex construction projects.
Familiarity with fast‑track and high‑pressure project environments.
Strong understanding of cost management principles, procurement, and contract administration
Ability to manage complex, multi‑disciplinary project scopes
Strong analytical, reporting, and problem‑solving capabilities
Effective stakeholder communication and coordination skills
Detail‑oriented and proactive approach in a fast‑paced environment
