Role Description The Housekeeping Associate role is a full-time, on-site position based in Ooty. The associate is responsible for maintaining guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to IHCL’s standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. Daily tasks include making beds, cleaning bathrooms, dusting and vacuuming, replenishing amenities and linen, and handling laundry items as required. The role involves responding promptly and courteously to guest requests, coordinating with the front office and other departments, and reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards. The associate also supports inventory control of housekeeping supplies, follows all safety and sanitation protocols, and may assist in training new team members on standard operating procedures.
Qualifications
Ability to manage housekeeping tasks including cleaning, room setup, and Laundry operations.
Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact professionally with guests and team members.
Good Organization Skills to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain records or checklists.
Willingness to participate in and support Training activities to uphold IHCL’s service and safety standards.
Prior experience in housekeeping or hospitality is preferred; fresh candidates with a strong service mindset may also be considered.
Basic understanding of hygiene, safety, and sanitization practices in a hotel environment.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights for extended periods as part of daily duties.
High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is desirable.
