Role Description The Medical Records Specialist is a part-time, remote role responsible for organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding health-related documentation for BambooMake.cn | Bamboo Life. This role includes reviewing incoming medical records for accuracy and completeness, updating digital health information systems, and ensuring records are classified and stored according to applicable privacy and data protection standards. The specialist regularly communicates with internal stakeholders and external partners to obtain missing information, clarify documentation, and respond to record-related inquiries. Daily tasks also involve verifying medical terminology, cross-checking data for consistency, and preparing reports or summaries as needed to support operational and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology and fundamental concepts in Medicine to accurately interpret and manage health-related documentation.
Proficiency in Health Information Management, including organizing, updating, and securing medical records in digital and/or electronic systems.
Experience working directly with Medical Records, including filing, indexing, auditing, and maintaining confidentiality and data integrity.
Solid Customer Service skills to handle inquiries, communicate clearly with internal teams and external partners, and resolve record-related issues professionally.
Attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a high level of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage part-time hours effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
Familiarity with data privacy regulations and best practices for handling sensitive health information.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Comfort using office productivity tools and electronic health record or document management systems; willingness to learn new software as needed.
