Role Description The Cyber Security Intern role at Weskill is a remote internship designed for learners interested in building foundational experience in cybersecurity. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with the analysis of security risks, helping monitor network and system activities, and supporting the identification and documentation of potential vulnerabilities. The intern may contribute to basic application and information security reviews, conduct guided research on emerging cyber threats, and help prepare reports or learning materials under supervision. This internship provides exposure to real-world security practices while offering mentorship and structured learning opportunities aligned with Weskill’s training approach.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills related to Cybersecurity and general Cyber concepts, including awareness of threat landscapes and security best practices.
Candidates should possess skills in Network Security, such as understanding firewalls, basic network protocols, and secure network configurations.
Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including familiarity with common vulnerabilities and secure coding principles.
Candidates should possess skills in Information Security, including data protection fundamentals, access control concepts, and security policies.
Foundational knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux), networking basics, and common security tools is beneficial.
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant undergraduate program (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related fields).
Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and willingness to learn in a remote, self-directed environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with mentors and team members.
