Job Purpose
The Site/Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, execution, and management of mining operations at an international project site. The role will involve site mobilization, workforce management, coordination with clients and contractors, safety and regulatory compliance, resource management, and delivery of project objectives on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
1. Land Acquisition (LA) & Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R&R)
Experience in Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation & Resettlement is essential.
Coordinate with local stakeholders, authorities, communities, and project teams on LA and R&R matters.
Support smooth project execution by addressing land and rehabilitation-related issues.
2. Project Planning & Execution
Plan and execute OB removal, coal extraction, mine development, and related infrastructure works as per the contract scope.
Coordinate with Head Office and Clients to align schedules, resource deployment, and progress targets.
Mobilize and demobilize manpower, machinery, and materials as per project lifecycle requirements.
Ensure achievement of project objectives within agreed timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
3. Team & Resource Management
Manage a multidisciplinary site team including engineers, operators, mechanics, supervisors, and administrative staff.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower and equipment with minimum downtime.
Coordinate with the procurement team for timely availability of machinery, spares, materials, and other resources.
4. Client, Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, consultants, local authorities, and other project stakeholders.
Attend project review meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and mitigation plans.
Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering production, resource utilization, safety, and cost.
5. Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable statutory regulations, DGMS guidelines, environmental requirements, labour laws, and local regulatory requirements applicable to the international project.
Implement safety protocols and conduct regular toolbox talks, inspections, and audits.
Investigate incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
6. Cost & Quality Control
Monitor project costs and minimize wastage, idle resources, and operational inefficiencies.
Ensure execution quality and adherence to technical specifications and contractual requirements.
Drive achievement of project objectives on time and within budget.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering / Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
1st Class Mine Manager’s Certificate preferred for applicable roles.
10–15 years of experience in managing large-scale mining or infrastructure projects.
Hands-on experience in OB removal and coal extraction, drilling & blasting, equipment management, and site logistics.
Strong understanding of mining regulations, safety standards, contract execution, and project management.
International project experience will be an added advantage.
