The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior ESG Specialist to lead ESG programs, data management, performance analysis, reporting, disclosure, stakeholder engagement, and continuous-improvement initiatives across the organization.
The ideal candidate will translate ESG objectives into practical programs and measurable targets, coordinate ESG data collection and assurance, monitor regulatory and reporting requirements, identify material ESG risks and opportunities, and provide management with clear insights to support responsible and sustainable business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement ESG strategies, policies, frameworks, standards, and operating procedures.
Translate organizational ESG objectives into measurable targets, initiatives, action plans, and performance indicators.
Support the development and implementation of enterprise ESG roadmaps.
Conduct ESG assessments to identify material environmental, social, and governance risks and opportunities.
Support materiality assessments, stakeholder assessments, and ESG priority-setting exercises.
Develop and maintain ESG governance structures, roles, responsibilities, and reporting processes.
Coordinate ESG activities across business units, projects, facilities, operations, and geographic markets.
Work with senior management to integrate ESG considerations into business planning and strategic decision-making.
Establish ESG data-management processes covering environmental, social, governance, and operational indicators.
Coordinate the collection, validation, reconciliation, and consolidation of ESG data from internal and external sources.
Establish data-quality controls to improve ESG data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
Maintain ESG databases, evidence files, calculation methodologies, definitions, records, and supporting documentation.
Develop ESG dashboards, scorecards, management reports, and performance summaries.
Analyze ESG performance against targets, prior periods, benchmarks, and relevant peer indicators.
Identify ESG performance gaps, emerging risks, recurring issues, and improvement opportunities.
Coordinate preparation of annual ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, and related reports.
Support ESG disclosures and reporting requirements applicable to the organization.
Monitor developments in ESG reporting standards, disclosure requirements, regulations, and stakeholder expectations.
Maintain ESG reporting methodologies, policies, calculation approaches, assumptions, and documentation.
Coordinate greenhouse-gas emissions data and climate-related performance information where applicable.
Support measurement and reporting of Scope 1, Scope 2, and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
Monitor environmental indicators including energy, emissions, water, waste, resource efficiency, and pollution-related metrics.
Support initiatives to reduce environmental impacts and improve resource efficiency.
Monitor social indicators covering workforce, health and safety, employee development, diversity, inclusion, community impact, and responsible business practices where applicable.
Coordinate governance indicators covering ethics, compliance, risk management, board practices, policies, controls, and responsible conduct.
Establish ESG performance metrics relevant to business units, functions, projects, and strategic priorities.
Develop ESG data-collection templates, reporting calendars, guidance materials, and control procedures.
Review ESG data submissions for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and supporting evidence.
Investigate data anomalies, inconsistencies, missing information, and reporting discrepancies.
Coordinate with Finance to align ESG data, financial information, operational metrics, and reporting methodologies where appropriate.
Support integration of ESG factors into enterprise risk-management frameworks.
Identify and assess ESG-related operational, regulatory, reputational, environmental, social, and governance risks.
Maintain ESG risk registers and coordinate mitigation plans with responsible stakeholders.
Support climate-related risk and opportunity assessments.
Evaluate the potential impact of ESG risks on business continuity, strategy, investments, operations, and reputation.
Coordinate ESG due diligence for projects, investments, acquisitions, suppliers, and strategic initiatives where applicable.
Develop ESG criteria for procurement, supplier evaluation, and responsible sourcing programs.
Monitor supplier ESG performance and support supplier-engagement initiatives.
Review supplier ESG questionnaires, assessments, certifications, and supporting evidence.
Collaborate with Procurement to incorporate ESG requirements into supplier selection and contract-management processes.
Support sustainable procurement and responsible sourcing initiatives.
Coordinate ESG assessments and information requests from customers, investors, lenders, business partners, rating agencies, and other stakeholders.
Prepare responses to ESG questionnaires, assessments, surveys, and information requests.
Monitor external ESG ratings, benchmarks, assessments, and stakeholder expectations.
Analyze ESG assessment results and coordinate improvement plans for identified gaps.
Coordinate ESG audits, assurance engagements, certifications, and verification activities.
Prepare evidence and supporting documentation for independent ESG assurance and verification.
Respond to audit and assurance queries and coordinate corrective actions.
Maintain an ESG issue, finding, and corrective-action tracker through closure.
Work with Legal and Compliance teams to monitor ESG-related regulatory obligations and disclosure requirements.
Support review of ESG-related policies, codes, procedures, and governance documents.

Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate should have strong experience in ESG, sustainability, corporate responsibility, ESG reporting, sustainability consulting, environmental management, risk, governance, or responsible business, preferably within an international organization, professional-services environment, financial institution, real estate, construction, energy, manufacturing, technology, or other complex business environment.
The candidate should demonstrate:
