About the Opportunity:
The TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST - ELECTRICAL SAFETY AND SECURITY contributes to the success of complex technology projects by leading the design of extra low voltage systems, including security, ICT, audio-visual, and structured cabling solutions. This role ensures mission-critical facilities such as hyperscale data centers and healthcare environments receive expert technology system integration. The position supports project delivery from initial planning through construction, impacting operational security and technology infrastructure reliability.
Responsibilities:
Design extra low voltage systems including security (video, access control, intrusion), ICT, audio-visual, and structured cabling solutions.
Lead security and related system designs for mission-critical projects through planning, detailed design, and construction support.
Develop design criteria, narratives, layouts, and construction documentation for security systems and related infrastructure.
Apply knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and industry guidelines such as BICSI, ANSI/TIA, and ASIS.
Prepare written system specifications and functional narratives following Master Format templates.
Collaborate with CAD/Revit teams to produce technical design and construction drawings.
Use design tools (e.g., Navisworks) to resolve modeling conflicts.
Review design documents and guide engineering drawing development.
Evaluate technology equipment for design suitability.
Coordinate with internal and external multidisciplinary design teams.
Lead and document design meetings and workshops.
Develop budget estimates for implementation costs.
Provide construction phase support, including site reviews and reporting.
Support business development activities including proposal input and client relations.
Mentor and train junior team members.
Requirements:
U.S. citizenship required.
Minimum five years of experience in technology ELV systems design and installation for large-scale industrial or commercial projects.
Experience with mission-critical and hyperscale, colocation, or enterprise data center programs.
Knowledge of mission-critical facility design with coordination across AV, ICT, and related systems.
Experience with BIM coordination and multidisciplinary model-based design workflows.
Relevant certifications such as PSP, CISSP, CPP, or RCDD are advantageous.
Background in engineering, architecture, or construction industries.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
Familiarity with remote task assignment and agile sprint-based team structures.
Ability to manage projects across multiple locations and time zones.
Experience with design markup software (Visio, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Revit).
Skilled in remote collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom).
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Expertise in structured cabling, network and server architecture, wireless access points, distributed antenna systems, technical security systems, intercommunication, public address, emergency call, audio-visual, building management, and IoT systems.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
