Snowflake Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Developer to join our Data & Analytics team and play a key role in building and enhancing enterprise data platforms within a Financial Services environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable cloud-based data solutions that support critical Risk, Finance, Treasury, Regulatory, and Management Reporting capabilities. This role combines hands-on technical delivery with solution design, data architecture, and stakeholder engagement, requiring an individual who can translate complex business requirements into robust, enterprise-grade data solutions.
Data Engineering & Solution Delivery
Design, build, and maintain scalable data solutions on the Snowflake platform.
Develop and optimize ELT/ETL pipelines to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and regulatory requirements.
Design and implement dimensional, analytical, and operational data models.
Develop and maintain reusable transformation frameworks using dbt.
Build Python-based data processing, automation, and integration solutions.
Develop data ingestion processes from multiple internal and external source systems.
Support cloud migration and data platform modernization initiatives.
Contribute to solution architecture, engineering standards, and platform design decisions.
Performance, Quality & Governance
Optimize Snowflake databases, workloads, and SQL queries to improve performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
Implement data quality controls, reconciliation processes, and monitoring frameworks.
Troubleshoot complex production, performance, and data integrity issues.
Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise security, governance, and regulatory standards.
Support code reviews, testing, release management, and CI/CD delivery practices.
Maintain technical documentation and promote engineering best practices across the data platform.
Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and solution design discussions.
Collaborate effectively with business users, data architects, developers, and project teams.
Communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project delivery.
Technical Expertise
7+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or Analytics Platform Development.
3+ years of hands-on Snowflake development experience within large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance optimization, security, and data modelling.
Advanced SQL development and database optimization skills.
Strong experience with dbt for data transformation, testing, deployment, and modelling.
Advanced Python programming skills for data engineering and automation.
Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions.
Strong understanding of - Data Warehousing principles, Dimensional Modelling and Star Schema design, Data Architecture and Data Governance, Data Quality and Performance Optimization
Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD deployment practices.
Financial Services Experience
Proven experience within Banking or Financial Services organizations.
Strong understanding of data ecosystems supporting: Credit Risk, Market Risk, Finance & Treasury, Regulatory Reporting, Management Information & Analytics
Experience working within governance, audit, and control frameworks typical of regulated financial institutions.
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
Strong stakeholder management and business engagement capabilities.
Experience working directly with business users, product owners, and senior stakeholders.
Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Control-M, AutoSys, or equivalent workload scheduling tools.
Microsoft BI technologies including SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS.

Experience delivering cloud migration and data modernization programs.
Knowledge of real-time or near real-time data processing architectures.
