Director, Product Management

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Product Management based in Canada.
This leadership role is responsible for guiding a global Product Management organization and shaping the strategy and execution of integrated software platforms. You will lead experienced product professionals while aligning product priorities with broader business objectives and customer needs. The role combines people leadership, product strategy, market research, lifecycle management, and cross-functional execution. You will work closely with engineering, marketing, sales, customers, partners, and executive stakeholders to bring valuable products and improvements to market. A strong focus on B2B software and technology service providers will help inform product decisions and market positioning. The position offers broad influence across product development, go-to-market strategy, and the customer experience.
Accountabilities
Lead a global Product Management team, setting goals and objectives while creating a collaborative, high-performing environment.
Own the short- to mid-term execution of the Product Management strategy and provide operational direction for the function.
Manage, mentor, and coach product professionals, supporting their development and aligning team activities with organizational priorities.
Prioritize daily team activities and coordinate cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency and execution.
Contribute to go-to-market messaging, positioning, and product strategy in partnership with marketing and sales teams.
Engage directly with customers and prospects to understand market requirements and translate business needs into actionable product requirements for engineering.
Represent the product organization in key customer engagements, analyst events, conferences, and other external forums.
Establish and refine product requirements, user experience analysis, and product validation processes.
Co-create and manage product lifecycle and software development lifecycle processes.
Develop and maintain strategic relationships with customers, partners, providers, and other external stakeholders, including contractual, technical, and consulting relationships.
Conduct market, customer, competitive, and product research to gather and validate requirements and identify opportunities.
Develop functional specifications for product features, including user interface design, rapid prototyping, validation, and usability testing.
Ensure product strategy remains aligned throughout the product lifecycle and that requirements are translated into effective product experiences.
Create and deliver product materials for marketing and sales teams covering product purpose, target users, customer benefits, customization capabilities, and competitive positioning.
Lead the development, approval, training, and communication of new products and product changes, including their customer, operational, system, and process impacts.
Monitor product-related internal processes before and after launches to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Drive the delivery of timely, high-quality product releases that address customer and partner business needs.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent business experience.
8+ years of relevant professional experience.
5+ years of management experience, including experience leading teams or multiple functional groups.
Preferred experience with B2B software products, managed service provider environments, and software product development.
Exceptional leadership, customer service, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong ability to investigate and solve complex problems requiring detailed analysis and structured decision-making.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the professional presence to engage effectively with executives, customers, partners, and external audiences.
Strong organizational, project management, time-management, and analytical capabilities.
Critical thinking and effective problem-resolution skills.
Ability to proactively identify opportunities and act with a strong sense of urgency.
Ability to understand and communicate technical documentation and translate complex concepts for different audiences.
Strong collaboration skills and comfort working in a fast-paced, continuously changing environment.
Ability to provide clear direction to teams while maintaining strong cross-functional relationships.
