IT Infrastructure Solutions Architect

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect to provide architecture leadership for cloud hosting capabilities, with a primary focus on AWS and strong practical knowledge of Azure.
You will design and govern infrastructure solutions across their full lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through architecture approval and transition to operations. You will ensure that solutions align with Eurofins architecture standards, security requirements and enterprise design patterns.
You will join an experienced Infrastructure Support Crew and work closely with Infrastructure and Application Architects, Security teams and other stakeholders. The role is primarily focused on architecture and design authority, with limited hands-on engineering, while also including participation in major incident and problem management.
Your responsibilities
You will lead the design and review of AWS-hosted infrastructure solutions, including cloud networking, segmentation, connectivity and landing zone architecture. You will work with Azure, particularly around enterprise identity and integration, and support hybrid connectivity between cloud and corporate environments.
A key part of the role will be Kubernetes platform architecture, covering cluster infrastructure, networking, ingress/egress, segmentation, resilience, observability and security.
You will create and maintain architecture documentation using the C4 model, together with HLD/LLD documentation and architecture decisions. You will promote secure and reusable architecture patterns, including Zero Trust principles, and work with Security and other stakeholders to define appropriate solutions.
You will also support major incident and problem management, including root-cause analysis and critical incident coordination as part of the out-of-hours manager pool. A DevOps mindset is expected, with an understanding of Infrastructure as Code and Terraform considered an advantage.
You have 5–10 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, operations and/or architecture, with strong experience designing and operating AWS environments. You have practical knowledge of Azure, particularly identity and enterprise integration, as well as strong understanding of Kubernetes, cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
You are comfortable working within enterprise architecture governance and communicating complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience with the C4 model is important.
Knowledge of Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and DevOps practices will be an advantage. Experience in security-sensitive or highly governed environments, familiarity with TOGAF or a comparable architecture framework, and relevant cloud or Kubernetes certifications are also welcome.
Strong English communication skills are essential.
