About the Role
Kombee is looking for a Lead QA Engineer to own QA strategy, quality outcomes, and team leadership across client projects. This is a leadership-focused role requiring strong technical expertise, automation ownership, and experience driving modern QA practices.
Key Responsibilities
Own QA strategy, processes, KPIs, release quality, and team outcomes.
Lead, mentor, and develop QA Engineers.
Architect scalable automation frameworks using Playwright, Appium, and WebdriverIO.
Work with JavaScript/Node.js and BDD.
Drive QA POCs and adoption of modern testing tools and AI-enabled QA practices.
Plan and execute performance, load, and security testing.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish quality gates.
Reduce flaky tests and improve automation reliability.
Collaborate with engineering, product, and client stakeholders.
Define testing strategies, methodologies, and quality standards.
Drive continuous improvement through QA metrics and retrospectives.
Required Skills
8+ years of QA experience with proven leadership/team or account ownership.
Strong experience with Playwright, Appium, WebdriverIO, JavaScript/Node.js, and BDD.
Hands-on experience in performance, load, and security testing.
Strong CI/CD and automation framework experience.
Excellent understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
Strong stakeholder and client communication skills.
Proven experience mentoring and developing QA teams.
Experience defining and owning QA processes.
Preferred Skills
AI-driven QA tools and automation.
OWASP ZAP, Burp, k6, or JMeter.
Database testing and automation at scale.
Client-facing or consulting experience.
Experience representing QA capabilities in external forums or industry events.
