Job Title:Research Senior Technician
Department:Public Health | Division of Epidemiology
The Research Senior Technician provides support for research projects involving participant recruitment and follow-up, data collection and management, literature reviews, study tracking and coordination, and other research-related task.
This position plays a central role in the day-to-day execution of research activities, including participant recruitment and follow-up, recruitment tracking and documentation, administering study procedures, collecting and managing study data, assisting with study coordination, and maintaining regulatory documentation. The Research Senior Technician works closely with the Principal Investigator and research team to ensure project activities are completed in accordance with approved protocols, timelines, and regulatory requirements.
The position independently performs routine research activities and uses judgment to address issues within established procedures and precedent. The Research Senior Technician identifies recruitment, data, or study coordination issues, determines appropriate solutions within established processes, and escalates unusual issues as appropriate. The position may provide assistance and training to less experienced colleagues.
**This is a part time 10 hour a week position. This position is contingent upon funding and will end on or before June 30, 2027, with possibility of renewal based on continued availability of funding and performance.**

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
Years of relevant experience required:
0 years with Bachelor’s degree
2 years with Associate’s degree, or
4 years with High school diploma
Preferred Qualifications
Prior research experience preferred but not required.
Experience with research recruitment, REDCap or other data-management systems, and working with research participants is beneficial.
Pay Range: $19.28-25.19
Salary will be based off of education, experience, internal equity, and budget allowance.

Essential Job Duties
70% - Participant Recruitment, Follow-up, and Data Management
Independently conducts participant recruitment and follow-up activities using approved study procedures. Communicates with potential and enrolled participants and administers standardized study procedures, surveys, or interviews as applicable. Maintains recruitment tracking and documentation, including contact attempts and participant status or dispositions. Enters and manages study data using established data collection systems, reviews records for completeness and accuracy, and resolves routine data or documentation issues using established procedures. Assists with study coordination and monitoring of recruitment and data collection activities. May provide assistance and training to less experienced colleagues.
10% - Research Communication and Study Coordination
Participates in research team meetings and communicates with project collaborators. Assists with coordinating study activities and monitoring project timelines and deliverables. Performs preliminary data analysis and prepares data summaries and reports for research team or other audiences.
10% - Regulatory Records and Standard Operating Procedures
Maintains study and regulatory documentation in accordance with established procedures. Documents changes and updates to standard operating procedures when needed. Monitors routine study activities for compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements and escalates issues requiring additional review.
10% - Other tasks as needed
