Position Highlights
Make a meaningful impact on student well-being by supporting efficient clinic operations and helping deliver high-quality, patient-centered healthcare services to the campus community.
Gain valuable experience in customer service, healthcare administration, problem-solving, and electronic health systems while contributing to a fast-paced clinical environment.
Serve as a key member of the Student Health Center team, helping students navigate services and access the care and resources they need to succeed both academically and personally.
Build professional skills through hands-on involvement in a variety of clinical support and administrative functions that directly enhance the student experience.
Schedule Requirement:
To support clinic operations and ensure consistent student access to care, this position requires availability to work one evening shift per week as part of the regular work schedule.

The Student Health Center is committed to providing high-quality, student-centered healthcare that supports the health, well-being, and academic success of our university community. Serving students through more than10,000 visits annually, our team strives to create a welcoming, respectful, and efficient experience for every patient. The Wellness Staff Assistant plays a vital role as the first point of contact for patients, helping to ensure seamless access to care through scheduling, registration, customer service, and administrative support. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Greets and assists students, visitors, and callers, creating a welcoming and professional front desk experience
Schedules and manages appointments for medical and mental health providers using electronic health systems
Provides information on available services, appointment procedures, confidentiality policies, and health requirements
Reviews and processes immunization records and other required health documentation in accordance with university and state regulations
Handles administrative tasks including answering phones, processing payments, maintaining records, and managing electronic files
Maintains confidentiality and supports departmental operations by exercising sound judgment and professionalism
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Knowledge of medical office procedures, terminology, and front desk operations in a clinical or wellness setting
Knowledge of confidentiality standards, HIPAA regulations, and university policies related to student health services
Skill in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and appointment scheduling software
Skill in providing clear, courteous, and professional communication in person, by phone, and electronically
Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations and maintain a welcoming and inclusive environment
Minimum Education & Experience
High School diploma or GED
2 years of relevant experience
Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Performs routine, well-defined, easy-to-understand tasks that can typically be learned in a short period of time. Work is performed under close supervision using clearly prescribed methods and detailed instructions.
