Project Manager - Learning & Development (Automotive Industry)
Location: Remote (Full-Time)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager, Learning & Development to lead the design, development, and delivery of high-impact leadership, technical, and professional development learning programs within the automotive industry. This role partners closely with instructional designers, learning leaders, subject matter experts, technical trainers, and external vendors to ensure learning solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

Candidates with experience supporting automotive OEMs, EV manufacturers, mobility organizations, dealer networks, manufacturing operations, or technical training programs are highly preferred.
What You'll Do
Lead End-to-End Learning Production
Manage the full lifecycle of learning initiatives, including digital, virtual, instructor-led, and technical training programs.
Partner with instructional designers, learning program managers, technical trainers, and vendors to bring learning concepts to life.
Ensure new learning experiences are delivered on time, within scope, and with consistent quality.
Support leadership development, technical capability, compliance, onboarding, and workforce development initiatives.
Plan, Coordinate & Execute
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, dependencies, milestones, and risk logs.
Manage multiple concurrent initiatives with overlapping timelines and stakeholders.
Facilitate alignment across designers, SMEs, technical experts, vendors, and leadership teams.
Monitor project progress, resource allocation, budgets, and critical deliverables.
Stakeholder & Working Group Management
Lead working group meetings and design reviews with instructional designers, SMEs, technical experts, and vendors.
Ensure requirements are clearly defined and validated prior to design and development.
Act as a trusted partner, educating stakeholders on learning design processes and project governance best practices.
Provide proactive communication and executive-level project updates.
Quality, Communication & Continuous Improvement
Ensure deliverables meet agreed-upon acceptance criteria, instructional standards, and business requirements.
Provide regular status updates, surface risks early, and drive issue resolution.
Gather feedback, identify opportunities for improvement, and recommend process enhancements.
Support production roadmaps, vendor management, resource planning, and budget tracking.
Drive continuous improvement across learning development and deployment processes.
Required Qualifications
What Makes You a Great Fit
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of project or program management experience, preferably supporting learning, training, talent development, or organizational effectiveness initiatives.
Experience managing the development and deployment of learning solutions across multiple formats, including:
eLearning
Video-based learning
Virtual instructor-led training
Classroom training
Technical training programs
Simulations, microlearning, and performance support tools
Strong ability to manage aggressive timelines with accuracy and attention to detail.
Highly organized, able to prioritize effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and bringing structure to complex work.
Strong consulting mindset with the ability to influence without direct authority.
Collaborative, relationship-driven approach to teamwork.
Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Automotive, mobility, EV, manufacturing, industrial, or technical training experience.
PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification.
Advanced degree or professional certification in Project Management, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, Learning & Development, or related disciplines.
Experience using SAM, Agile, or iterative learning development methodologies.
3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Development, Training Operations, or a creative studio environment.
Experience leading design reviews and working sessions with SMEs and technical experts.
Understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design best practices.
Experience supporting dealership training, field training, service training, manufacturing training, or workforce development programs.
