Job Description SummaryGE Healthcare is in need of a Wet Chemistry Manufacturing Technician on Second Shift to assist in the processing of scintillator material. This role includes Production Responsibilities (Operate chemical reactors, load/unload material from freezer/oven), Data Collection, Product Sampling, Analytical Testing (Particle Size Analysis & ICP), and Chemical Handling (Both liquid and solid). As a wet chemistry production technician, your responsibilities will stretch beyond making daily output targets by being involved with direct troubleshooting and working with the engineering team.

Job DescriptionResponsibilities
Run end‑to‑end wet‑chem unit operations: Operate wet chem reactors through chemical processing steps including dissolving/soaking/re‑heating/holding states; manage filter press and freezer/microwave/unloader; execute precipitations and blend sampling; and coordinate transfers when batches are ready to send downstream.
Perform in‑process testing and sample prep: Prepare ICP/PSA samples using laboratory equipment, document results accurately, and promptly communicate abnormal conditions or trends, supporting quality tracking for engineering team
Own documentation & compliance: Complete production and quality records accurately and on time while following established procedures, quality requirements, and the Quality Management System.
Lead with Safety and 5S: Follow EHS requirements, use appropriate PPE, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and proactively identify and address safety concerns; and report/contain hazards (e.g., cracked tray disposition; dopant vessel held for cleaning).
Maintain production flow & communication: Meet production targets, provide thorough shift handoffs, communicate process status effectively, and escalate issues that could impact safety, quality, or delivery.
Protect yield & cost: handle equipment and raw materials correctly (e.g., hoist alum/dopant materials safely; monitor scale stability vs. agitator effects), minimize operator‑induced scrap and rework, identify process abnormalities, and support troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Chemistry or Technology related fields, or an Associates degree (or local equivalent 2 year degree) and 2 or more years technical experience in Chemical manufacturing
Proficiency to understand and interpret basic written technical information
Demonstrated ability to work well with limited direction and information
Highly detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently throughout the process.
Proactive, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
The ability to analyze data, identify trends, and communicate findings clearly will be key to supporting our team’s success.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in Chemical Manufacturing or a chemist background
A strong background in chemistry would be a major asset, especially when it comes to understanding and troubleshooting issues related to materials and quality.
