Senior Platform Engineer – Cloud Architecture & Fleet Delivery

Build the cloud behind machines that run the world's production lines.
Our industrial inspection systems make real-time decisions in plants around the globe. We're building the cloud platform that connects them all, and we want you to own its foundation. You'll design how software reaches installed machines, how we track the state of every system in the field, and how a problem spotted on a production line becomes a delivered fix.
This is a senior/staff-level role with real architectural authority and a direct line to the Chief Software Architect.
What You'll Do
Own and document the architecture of our central cloud platform, including service boundaries, data schemas, edge-to-cloud protocols, and tenant isolation
Build the system that delivers software updates to machines in customer plants, with staged rollouts, rollback, and end-state verification over unreliable networks
Create a single source of truth for every deployed system's hardware, software, and configuration history
Design how field machines report health, alarms, and diagnostics back to a central view
Lead CI/CD, infrastructure as code, code signing, and the engineering tooling our teams rely on
Take workstreams from written design to delivered software, on a weekly cadence
What You Bring
7+ years of software engineering, including owning production systems
Architecture ownership across multiple teams, backed by written designs or decision records
Experience delivering software to remote or installed devices you can't directly access
Production experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, plus Terraform, Bicep, or similar IaC tools
Hands-on containers, orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines you built yourself
Strong skills in two or more languages, including systems-level C or C++
Comfort directing AI coding agents and critically reviewing their output
Clear written communication and a love of good design reviews
Bonus Points
Kubernetes, multi-tenant SaaS, PKI and mTLS, OpenTelemetry, OTA/IoT update systems, or industrial and machine vision experience.
