Compounder
Location: Scranton, PA
Shift: 7:00PM-7:00 AM
Pay: $23.51, plus $1.00 shift differential
The Compounder is responsible for preparing and processing resin and regrind materials used in production. This position operates mixers, scales, forklifts, and regrind equipment while following established formulas, production schedules, and safety procedures.
What You’ll Do
Follow formulas and procedures to accurately mix resin, pigments, liquids, powders, and reprocessed materials.
Weigh and measure materials using scales and other measuring equipment.
Safely operate mixers, hoppers, regrind equipment, forklifts, and related production equipment.
Load mixers with raw materials, including bags, boxes, and Gaylord containers.
Monitor mixing and regrind processes to ensure materials meet quality and production requirements.
Operate regrind equipment to mix, sift, shred, grind, pulverize, and convey materials.
Use the Movex system to follow production schedules, print Manufacturing Orders, complete material confirmations, and enter work orders.
Complete production and compounding reports accurately.
Label and identify finished materials according to established procedures.
Clean and maintain mixers, scales, equipment, and work areas, particularly during color changes to prevent contamination.
Perform routine operator preventive maintenance and report equipment issues when needed.
Complete inventory and cycle count activities as required.
Communicate production information with other shifts to ensure a smooth transition.
Follow dust-control, safety, quality, and 6S requirements.
Help train new employees and cross-train team members.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
High school diploma or GED required.
Forklift experience or ability to become forklift certified.
Manufacturing or production experience preferred.
Experience with mixing, compounding, plastics, chemicals, or material processing preferred.
Basic math skills and ability to accurately measure materials.
Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing systems.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to follow formulas, procedures, and safety instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Reliable attendance and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
Ability to lift and move approximately 40-pound boxes and other materials.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay Transparency
The salary for this position is $23.51. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
