Description of Work
The Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking Clinical Informatics Specialist.
This role serves as the facility's expert resource for our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, eMerge, providing independent consultation, technical guidance, and project oversight. The Clinical Informatics Specialist will collaborate closely with clinical teams, administrative leaders, and IT professionals to optimize EHR functionality and support high-quality patient care.
Key responsibilities include analyzing and interpreting clinical data trends, advising intemal and external stakeholders, and contributing to the design, implementation,' and evaluation of health information systems. The ideal candidate is a critical
thinker who is passionate about leveraging technology to enhance health outcomes, improve clinical workflows, and strengthen the clinician-patient relationship.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences
Salary Range: $66,696.00 - $110,049.00
Recruitment Range: $66,696.00 - $88,373.00
*A Sign-On Bonus of $10,000.00 may be offered to the successful applicant(s) of this posting, contingent on Budget Approval.

The Clinical Informatics Specialist must be a quick leamer, able to adapt to technology, good communicator, problem solver, clinical knowledge, previous or current experience using Epic. Ability to interpret regulations, software, applications, and operate hardware for the Center's Epic use.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to IO pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Per G.S. 126-5 (c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.
This position is designated as mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.
Usual Work Hours:
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Flexibility is required for education and training purposes and to meet the needs of the facility.
*ELIGIBILITY FOR SIGN-ON BONUS
To qualify for the Sign-On Bonus, a newly hired permanent full-time or permanent part-time employee must work 30 to 40 hours per week to be eligible. Those who are eligible and working less than 40 hours a week will receive a pro-rated rate.
An employee is not eligible for a Sign-On Bonus if:
The employee has held a position in the North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system, within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date).
The employee has previously received a Sign-On Bonus from any State agency.
DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.

ABOUT BLACK MOUNTAIN NEURO-MEDICAL TREATMENT CENTER
Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center is one of three state operated facilities serving adults with chronic and complex medical conditions that co-exist with neurodevelopmental or neurocognitive disorders often related to a diagnosis of severe and persistent mental illness or intellectual disability. The health and physical status of these residents require 24-hour supervision, daily nursing care, and assistance with activities of daily living.
