Lecturer in Applied Mathematics

Full-time 4 years fixed term position, located on the Camperdown Campus at the School of Mathematics and Statistics
Opportunity to make significant contributions to teaching and learning practice, design and evaluation while continuing to build research expertise
Base Salary, Academic Level B $132,533 – $157,381 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The School of Mathematics and Statistics is currently seeking a Lecturer in Applied Mathematics who will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning design, delivery, and evaluation in pure mathematics while continuing to build research contribution, expertise, connections, and impact. This role is a replacement for a staff member who is on a fellowship.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
work closely with other School members in applied mathematics, or related areas
conduct high-quality research in applied mathematics, or related areas
teach graduate and undergraduate courses in mathematics for students from different disciplinary backgrounds
supervise and coordinate graduate and undergraduate students
apply for external funding.
About you
a PhD (or near completion) in mathematics, applied mathematics, or a related area
evidence of independent research, compatible with the standards at The University of Sydney
evidence of ability, versatility, and commitment to excellence in teaching.
