About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Demand Planning Functional Consultant to work with business stakeholders and technical teams to define and deliver demand planning solutions.
The successful candidate will bring strong functional expertise in demand planning and demand forecasting, translating business needs into clear requirements, functional specifications and business processes. You will collaborate with solution architects, data engineers and developers to ensure that business requirements are translated into effective, scalable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Engage with business stakeholders to understand demand planning processes, business requirements and operational challenges.
Define and document end-to-end demand planning workflows, business rules and functional requirements.
Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, process maps and acceptance criteria.
Define data requirements for historical demand, customer data and customer forecast inputs.
Specify requirements for data validation, forecast review, manual adjustments, version management and forecast publication.
Collaborate with solution architects, data engineers and developers to ensure functional requirements align with the overall solution architecture.
Define requirements for planning applications, reporting and analytical capabilities.
Support the design of planner workflows, business validations and exception-handling processes.
Prepare functional test scenarios and support System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Manage functional defects, validate resolutions and support business readiness.
Facilitate workshops, maintain requirements traceability and ensure alignment between business expectations and delivered functionality.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a Demand Planning Functional Consultant, Demand Planning Business Analyst or in a similar role.
Strong understanding of demand planning processes and demand forecasting workflows.
Experience gathering business requirements and producing functional specifications, process maps and user stories.
Understanding of historical demand data, customer forecasts, planning horizons and forecast adjustments.
Experience defining data requirements, business validation rules and exception-handling processes.
Experience collaborating with technical teams on enterprise applications and data-driven solutions.
Experience supporting functional testing, UAT and stakeholder sign-off.
Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Experience
Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power Apps, Power BI or Dynamics 365.
Familiarity with lakehouses, curated data products and data integration concepts.
Experience with demand planning platforms such as SAP IBP, Kinaxis, o9 Solutions, Blue Yonder or Anaplan.
Understanding of forecast accuracy measures, forecast bias and statistical forecasting concepts.
Experience working in Agile delivery environments using Azure DevOps or Jira.

You should be comfortable facilitating workshops, challenging requirements constructively, documenting functional designs and ensuring that solutions meet business needs.
