SAP Lead Developer

The SAP Lead Developer (BTP, S/4HANA, R/3, Fiori, AI) will lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable SAP solutions that support complex business processes across the organization.
This role combines hands-on SAP development, technical leadership, and solution architecture. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions across SAP BTP, S/4HANA, SAP R/3, and SAP Fiori, including AI-enabled applications and integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of SAP applications and technical solutions across SAP BTP, S/4HANA, R/3, and Fiori.
Translate business requirements and process needs into scalable and maintainable technical designs.
Provide technical leadership to development teams through solution guidance, code reviews, mentoring, and development standards.
Design and implement integrations between SAP and non-SAP systems using APIs, OData, REST services, event-driven architecture, and integration platforms.
Drive the modernization and optimization of existing SAP applications, including legacy solutions where applicable.
Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and other technical teams throughout the solution lifecycle.
Contribute to SAP architecture, technology roadmap, engineering standards, and development best practices.
Explore and implement AI-enabled capabilities where they can improve business processes, user experience, or operational efficiency.
At least 5–10 years of relevant experience in SAP software development, solution design, or enterprise application development.
Strong experience in SAP software development and solution architecture, ideally across SAP BTP, S/4HANA, SAP R/3, and SAP Fiori environments.
Strong understanding of business process analysis, process mapping, and optimization, with the ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Advanced programming skills in one or more technologies such as ABAP, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, SAPUI5, and Node.js.
Hands-on experience with SAP BTP services, S/4HANA technologies, Fiori/SAPUI5 applications, and SAP integration technologies.
Solid experience in integrating SAP and non-SAP systems using APIs, OData, REST, middleware, and event-driven architectures.
Experience with AI/ML integration or AI-enabled enterprise applications is highly desirable.
Proven experience in providing technical leadership, including solution design, architecture guidance, code reviews, defining technical standards, and mentoring developers.
Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, Git/version control, automated deployment, testing, and secure coding practices.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional and international teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant SAP certifications, particularly in SAP BTP and/or S/4HANA, are considered an advantage.Experience working in large-scale enterprise, global, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
