Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer with 3–5 years of relevant experience in substation projects, electrical testing, commissioning, and high-voltage systems.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in testing and commissioning of HT/HV/MV switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and other substation electrical equipment. The role requires strong technical knowledge, troubleshooting ability, and the capability to work effectively in project and site environments.
Key Responsibilities
Execute testing and commissioning activities for electrical substations and associated systems.
Perform testing and commissioning of HT/HV/MV switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, CTs, PTs/CVTs, and busbars.
Conduct primary injection and secondary injection testing as applicable.
Carry out protection relay testing, calibration, and functional checks.
Perform insulation resistance, continuity, contact resistance, and other relevant electrical tests.
Assist in transformer testing and commissioning and verify equipment performance against project specifications.
Inspect electrical systems and identify faults during testing and commissioning activities.
Troubleshoot electrical and protection system issues and coordinate with project teams for timely resolution.
Ensure all testing and commissioning activities comply with approved procedures, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
Prepare and maintain test reports, commissioning records, checklists, inspection reports, and other technical documentation.
Coordinate with project, engineering, construction, and client teams during testing and commissioning activities.
Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, energization, and handover activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's/Diploma qualification in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical testing and commissioning.
Hands-on experience in substation projects is preferred.
Strong knowledge of HT/HV/MV switchgear testing and commissioning.
Experience in transformer testing and commissioning.
Knowledge of protection relay testing and electrical protection systems.
Familiarity with CT, PT/CVT, circuit breaker, busbar, and associated substation equipment testing.
Knowledge of primary and secondary injection testing is an advantage.
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of electrical safety practices and commissioning procedures.
Ability to work at project/site locations across India.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Candidates from Electrical EPC, Substation, Power Transmission & Distribution, Switchgear, Electrical Testing & Commissioning, and Power Infrastructure backgrounds are preferred.
