Senior Back End Software Engineer (Integrations)

Job Summary
We're looking for a senior back-end engineer focused on integrations and APIs. You'll build and own the connections between the team's products and partner applications running on Spring Boot microservices. You'll work directly with the business to shape requirements and own the design of what you build. There's no front-end work planned for the first six months of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain APIs and integrations with partner applications
Work closely with partner teams who use Spring Boot microservices
Write scripts and queries in MongoDB and BigQuery
Develop back-end services in Java and Python, and write efficient SQL
Gather requirements directly from business stakeholders and own the solution design
Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as a core part of your daily development work
Communicate technical decisions and tradeoffs clearly to technical and non-technical partners
Requirements
7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a back-end and integration focus
Strong experience with Java, Python, and SQL
Proven experience designing and building APIs and system integrations
A track record of owning solution design end to end
Excellent stakeholder communication skills and strong business sense
Comfort with, and enthusiasm for, AI-assisted development tools
Preferred Qualifications
MongoDB experience
Spring Boot microservices experience
GCP experience, especially BigQuery (AWS or Azure experience also translates well)
Front-end experience (React or JavaScript), a nice-to-have for later, not needed at the start
Healthcare industry experience
