We are seeking an experienced IT Software Engineer 5 – Lead (Automotive domain- Mandatory) to provide technical leadership and delivery ownership for a team building and operating scalable, cloud-native applications on AWS.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, AWS, distributed systems, DevOps, CI/CD, observability, and search technologies, along with proven technical leadership experience.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership for enterprise software engineering teams.
Define architecture standards, engineering best practices, and technology strategy.
Lead AWS cloud adoption, modernization, and cloud-native development.
Design scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performance solutions.
Guide development of Spring Boot microservices and distributed systems.
Drive DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and observability practices.
Promote AI-assisted development and engineering productivity.
Support production operations, incident management, and continuous improvement.
Mentor and coach engineers.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, Platform Teams, and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
10+ years of software engineering experience.
5+ years in a technical lead, engineering lead, or similar leadership role.
Proven experience delivering cloud-native applications in enterprise environments.

Preferred: Candidates based in or near Chicago, IL, given occasional travel requirements.
Note: Candidates must have stable employment history, strong hands-on AWS experience, and demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and enterprise-scale projects. Automotive domain is mandatory, other domains will not be given preference over this.
