What You’ll Do:
The A/R Follow-Up Specialist manages denied, unpaid, and underpaid claims for behavioral health facilities. The role handles insurance follow-ups, appeals, corrections, and escalations while maintaining accurate documentation and managing assigned A/R accounts.
Job Description
Manage assigned A/R accounts across aging buckets, prioritizing denied, underpaid, and high-value claims.
Conduct daily follow-ups with U.S. insurance payers via phone and portals.
Investigate claim denials, rejections, underpayments, COB, and authorization issues.
Support appeals, corrected claims, and reconsiderations.
Gather and review EOBs, ERAs, medical records, and authorization documents.
Maintain accurate claim notes, including denial codes, reference numbers, and follow-up actions.
Coordinate with billing, payment posting, clinical, and utilization review teams.
Escalate complex or recurring payer issues when needed.
Meet A/R, collection, resolution, and documentation KPIs.
Qualifications
Demonstrates strong experience in insurance follow-up and claims resolution.
Knowledge of EOBs, ERAs, denial codes, and payer processes.
Comfortable performing daily outbound calls to U.S. insurance companies.
Proven ability to work U.S. Eastern Time schedule.
Clear and coherent both written and verbal communication skills in English.
