About the Role
Technovate is looking for a Junior Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. This role is suitable for Civil/Structural Engineering graduates and candidates looking to build a career in structural steel estimation, quantity surveying, and construction estimating.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with structural steel quantity take-offs (QTO) and cost estimation.
Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
Assist in preparing BOQs, tender documents, and cost estimates.
Collect, compile, and compare supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Support tender submissions, scope clarifications, and project handovers.
Maintain estimating records and assist with RFI preparation when required.
Requirements
Degree/Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction, Quantity Surveying, Architectural Drafting, or a relevant trade background.
0–2 years of experience in estimating, drafting, quantity surveying, steel fabrication, or erection.
Good understanding of structural drawings and blueprints.
Basic knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
Familiarity with Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, or similar PDF tools is an advantage.
Strong numerical ability, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
Basic understanding of steel profiles, connections, and fabrication processes is preferred.
