About The Role
We're looking for an AI Platform Engineer and Advocate with deep Databricks expertise. Our central platform team helps Körber's Business Areas build faster data and AI solutions. In this role, you'll promote the data science, ML, and GenAI capabilities of our platform and drive their rollout, so that teams across the Business Areas adopt them and use them well.
You'll define the guardrails and standards that keep a growing Databricks platform governable at scale. You'll keep a close eye on new Databricks features and GenAI tooling, and give teams a clear call on what to adopt, what to wait for, and what to avoid. And you'll turn what you learn in hands-on engagements into reusable patterns, so every team benefits, not just the one you worked with.
Through workshops, hackathons, technical demos, internal communities, and knowledge-sharing programs, you will inspire data and AI teams to adopt new ways of working and keep improving their craft.
This is a senior individual contributor role with group-wide reach. Your impact shows in how quickly teams get to production, how consistently they build, and how few of them reinvent the same solution.
What You'll Do
Engage hands-on
Evaluate new Databricks features and GenAI tooling, and give clear adopt / wait / avoid recommendations
Lead Databricks platform engagements with Business Area teams by providing consulting, blueprints, and best practices
Turn what you learn in engagements into reusable patterns for everyone else
Write the playbook
Produce reference architectures, blueprints, and step-by-step implementation guides that teams actually use
Write opinionated best-practice guides that are technically rigorous and easy to use
Turn Databricks releases into clear internal guidance on what matters for us, what to adopt, and what to ignore
Grow the community
Build and lead a community of practice for data scientists and ML engineers across all Business Areas
Design and deliver trainings, hands-on workshops, office hours, and hackathons
Present at internal tech forums and explain the platform vision to senior leadership
Close the loop
Collect pain points and adoption blockers from teams, and turn them into prioritized input for the platform team
Measure adoption and practice maturity, and report on progress
What You Bring
Must-haves
6+ years in data science, ML engineering, or AI platform roles, including time spent building models or AI systems yourself
Hands-on Databricks experience in production: Unity Catalog, MLflow, Model Serving, and Lakeflow Jobs/Workflows
Experience with newer Databricks capabilities such as Agent Bricks, Genie, Feature Engineering, and AI Gateway
Hands-on experience building GenAI applications such as RAG or agents, including evaluation and monitoring
Experience defining MLOps or engineering standards that other teams adopted
You explain complex topics clearly to engineers, data scientists, and leadership, and people enjoy your workshops
Nice to have
A track record in enablement, developer advocacy, or consulting, such as building communities, running trainings, or publishing technical content
Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments
Databricks certifications
Your benefits ::
