Role Description The Cyber Security Architect role at Clear InfoSec is a full-time remote position responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure architectures across applications, networks, and enterprise systems. In this role, the individual will translate business and technical requirements into security controls, reference architectures, and solution designs that align with industry standards and regulatory obligations. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing threat modeling, reviewing secure software and infrastructure designs, guiding secure configuration and hardening efforts, and collaborating with engineering and operations teams to embed security into development and deployment lifecycles. The Cyber Security Architect will evaluate existing environments, recommend improvements, lead security design reviews, and contribute to policies, standards, and security roadmaps. The role also involves staying current with emerging threats and technologies, advising stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies, and supporting security assessments and audits.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Security Architecture Design, including enterprise security frameworks, secure infrastructure design, and solution-level security integration.
Proficiency in Application Security, such as secure SDLC practices, threat modeling, code review guidance, and secure design for cloud-native and web applications.
Deep knowledge of Cybersecurity principles, including risk management, threat analysis, incident response coordination, and security best practices across technologies.
Experience in Network Security, including segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, secure routing, and protection of hybrid and cloud network environments.
Expertise in Information Security, covering governance, policies and standards, compliance (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST), and data protection strategies.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or SABSA/TOGAF (or equivalent experience).
Experience designing security for cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern infrastructure (containers, microservices, DevOps/DevSecOps).
