Network Architect

Role Description This is a part-time, remote role for a Network Architect at Corporate News Den Africa. The Network Architect will design, implement, and optimize network architectures supporting the company’s digital platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability. Day-to-day tasks include developing network design documentation, configuring and maintaining network devices, and collaborating with engineering and IT teams to align infrastructure with business needs. The role involves monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and applying security best practices to protect systems and data. The Network Architect will also evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to improve resiliency, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of the network environment.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Network Architecture and Network Design to create scalable, resilient, and secure network solutions.
Hands-on experience in Network Administration and Network Engineering for configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure.
Proficiency in Network Security, including firewalls, VPNs, access control, and security best practices for digital media environments.
Knowledge of routing and switching technologies, TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and cloud or hybrid network environments.
Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools; ability to analyze performance metrics and optimize network operations.
Relevant certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage part-time hours effectively, and communicate clearly with distributed teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or comparable professional experience.
