Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced, proactive, and results-driven Business Development Executive – US Market to support the growth and expansion of Proficio Therapy Services in the United States.
The primary focus of this role will be to identify, develop, and generate new business and referral opportunities through structured outbound outreach, relationship building, market research, and consistent follow-up. The Business Development Executive will be responsible for connecting with Pediatricians, Pediatric Clinics, Diagnostic Centers, Preschools, Schools, Child Development Centers, Healthcare Providers, Community Organizations, and other relevant referral sources across our target markets in the US.
The role requires an individual who is comfortable with high-volume outbound calling and prospecting while also being capable of building long-term professional relationships with healthcare providers, educators, administrators, and other decision-makers.
The successful candidate will be expected to develop a strong understanding of Proficio’s therapy services, identify organizations and professionals who can become potential referral or business partners, generate qualified leads, secure meetings, and support the conversion of these opportunities into sustainable referral relationships.
This is a target-driven position and requires strong ownership of the business development pipeline, from initial prospect identification through outreach, qualification, follow-up, and handover of qualified opportunities
Roles and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Lead Generation
Identify and generate qualified business leads within designated US markets through outbound calls, emails, professional networking, online research, and other targeted outreach activities.
Conduct consistent outreach to Pediatricians, Pediatric Clinics, Diagnostic Centers, Preschools, Schools, Child Development Centers, Healthcare Organizations, and other potential referral partners.
Research assigned markets and build a comprehensive database of prospective referral sources and business partners.
Identify key decision-makers and establish contact with individuals responsible for referrals, partnerships, care coordination, student services, special education, or related functions.
Develop and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospective referral partners and business opportunities.
Proactively identify new channels and organizations that could generate referrals for Proficio's services.
Outbound Calling & Prospect Engagement
Conduct regular outbound and cold-calling campaigns targeting prospective referral sources.
Confidently introduce Proficio Therapy Services and communicate our service offerings and value proposition.
Engage prospective partners in meaningful conversations to understand their patient, student, or community needs.
Identify opportunities where Proficio's services could support children and families requiring therapy services.
Navigate gatekeepers effectively and establish contact with relevant decision-makers.
Handle initial questions and objections professionally and appropriately.
Follow up consistently with prospective partners through calls, emails, and other approved communication channels.
Schedule meetings, presentations, or introductory discussions with qualified prospects for the appropriate internal leadership or clinical teams.
Referral Relationship Development
Develop professional relationships with potential referral sources and maintain regular communication with them.
Build awareness of Proficio's services among healthcare professionals, educational institutions, and community organizations.
Maintain engagement with existing and prospective referral partners to strengthen relationships and identify additional opportunities.
Support initiatives aimed at increasing referrals and improving Proficio's visibility within target communities.
Identify opportunities for long-term partnerships rather than focusing solely on one-time referrals.
Market Research & Territory Development
Conduct ongoing research on assigned US markets to identify new business opportunities, referral sources, competitors, and market trends.
Develop a strong understanding of the US pediatric healthcare, behavioral health, therapy, and education ecosystem.
Identify underserved geographic areas or potential markets where demand for pediatric therapy services may exist.
Maintain updated information on potential referral organizations and decision-makers.
Provide feedback to management regarding market conditions, referral trends, competitor activity, and opportunities identified through outreach.
Recommend new outreach strategies, target segments, and potential partnership opportunities based on market findings.
Lead Qualification & Pipeline Management
Qualify prospects based on defined criteria before progressing them through the business development pipeline.
Maintain clear visibility of all prospects at different stages of the pipeline.
Ensure timely and structured follow-up of all open leads and opportunities.
Prioritize high-potential referral sources and opportunities based on business needs.
Work toward converting initial conversations into qualified meetings, referral relationships, and business opportunities.
Ensure qualified opportunities are appropriately handed over to the relevant internal team for further discussion or conversion.
CRM, Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all business development activities in the designated CRM or tracking system.
Document calls, emails, contacts, follow-ups, meetings, referral opportunities, and outcomes.
Maintain accurate prospect and decision-maker contact information.
Ensure all follow-up activities are completed within agreed timelines.
Prepare regular reports covering outreach volume, leads generated, meetings scheduled, opportunities created, referral sources developed, and conversions.
Track individual performance against established weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets.
Use data and results to identify areas requiring improvement and modify outreach strategies accordingly.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with US Operations, Clinical, Intake, Marketing, and other relevant teams to support business development initiatives.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that prospective partners receive accurate information about services, locations, availability, and referral processes.
Facilitate smooth handover of qualified leads and business opportunities to the appropriate internal teams.
Share market feedback and referral-source insights that could help improve service positioning and business development strategies.
Participate in regular business development meetings and provide updates on pipeline progress, challenges, and opportunities.
Qualifications
Minimum Postgraduate (PG) qualification in Business Administration, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or a related field.
5–8 years of experience in business development, sales, lead generation, inside sales, or a similar role.
Prior experience in US market business development or outbound calling is strongly preferred.
Experience working with healthcare, pediatric, education, childcare, or related sectors will be an added advantage.
