Senior / Lead Web Designer
Remote, UK / Europe | Salary up to 100k DOE
We’re partnering with an AI/SaaS business looking for a Senior / Lead Web Designer to own its new website, from the initial creative direction through to launch and its ongoing evolution.
This is an opportunity to shape how the business presents itself to the world. The ambition is to create a distinctive, premium web experience, with the visual confidence and attention to detail associated with leading consumer, lifestyle and e-commerce brands.
You’ll work directly with the Head of Design and closely with Marketing, alongside a dedicated Senior / Lead Web Engineer who will own development. Together, you’ll take ideas from concept into production, with close collaboration on interaction, motion, responsive behaviour and implementation quality.
The role offers significant creative autonomy. You’ll help decide where the website needs to go, establish the visual direction and stay involved as it develops after launch.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead the design of a new website, from early concepts and prototypes through to launch.
- Establish a scalable web design system covering typography, layouts, components, interactions and motion.
- Work closely with your engineering partner to deliver polished, responsive experiences.
- Translate the brand, product and messaging into clear, compelling web journeys.
- Partner with Marketing on landing pages, campaigns and product launches.
- Continuously improve the live website, balancing visual quality, usability and conversion.
- Contribute to wider brand and graphic design projects.
- Explore AI and modern design tools to support experimentation and execution.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have a portfolio of exceptional websites, showing strong visual judgement and an ability to create distinctive digital experiences. We’re particularly interested in thoughtful typography, composition, imagery, interaction and motion, backed by clear, usable journeys.
Your background could be in a creative agency, design studio or in-house team. Experience with premium consumer brands, lifestyle businesses or e-commerce would be particularly relevant.
You’ll also bring:
- Strong web design expertise, supported by broader visual and graphic design skills.
- Experience taking websites from concept through to live implementation.
- A good understanding of responsive design and modern web development possibilities.
- Confidence collaborating directly with engineers throughout the design process.
- The ability to build coherent visual systems that scale across pages and campaigns.
- An understanding of how brand expression, clarity and commercial performance work together.
- The initiative to set direction, identify opportunities and take ownership of delivery.
This is a hands-on role with substantial influence over the website’s creative direction and long-term development.
The role is remote across the UK and Europe. Salary is open and will reflect experience and the level of responsibility.
