About The Role
Vantor has an exciting opportunity for a Backend Developer within our Intel sector, contributing to the advancement of national security through innovative technology solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for staying abreast of rapidly evolving technological trends and leveraging their expertise within a highly collaborative team environment. The Backend Developer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust software applications and APIs that support our mission-critical operations.
This role involves working with cutting-edge backend technologies, integrating various APIs, and potentially deploying solutions on cloud platforms. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to delivering scalable, secure, and efficient systems that support Vantor’s strategic objectives in spatial intelligence and national security.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
Active TS/SCI security clearance with CI Polygraph.
Proficiency in Java and/or Python programming languages, including experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Flask, or Django.
Strong understanding of API architectural styles, including REST, GraphQL, and SOAP, with experience using development tools like Postman and Swagger UI.
Familiarity with database systems, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).
Experience with version control systems such as Git.
Knowledge of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
Software Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable applications and APIs using Java and Python, ensuring code quality and maintainability.
API Design and Integration: Develop RESTful APIs and microservices, ensuring secure and efficient communication between systems. Integrate third-party APIs and services as needed.
Database Management: Work with various database technologies to store, retrieve, and manage data effectively, ensuring data integrity and security.
Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, product managers, and QA to define requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver seamless functionality.
Performance Optimization and Security: Optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement security best practices in data handling and API authentication processes.
Cloud Integration (Optional): Implement and integrate cloud services such as AWS or Azure to support cloud-native solutions and deployment strategies.
Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing support, bug fixes, and enhancements for existing applications and APIs to ensure continuous operational excellence.
