Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Animator to join our creative production team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in 3D character animation, acting, body mechanics, storytelling, performance animation, and Unreal Engine, along with a thorough understanding of the animation production pipeline.
The Senior Animator will be responsible for creating high-quality animation for our 3D animated projects and working within an Unreal Engine-based production workflow. The candidate should be capable of handling complex shots independently while maintaining the artistic and technical standards of the project.
Key Responsibilities
Create high-quality 3D character animation for animated series, cinematic sequences, and other production requirements.
Translate storyboards, layouts, and creative direction into compelling animated performances.
Animate characters with a strong understanding of body mechanics, weight, timing, spacing, acting, expressions, and emotions.
Work on complex character performances, dialogue shots, action sequences, and emotional scenes.
Work with Unreal Engine for animation, scene integration, Sequencer-based workflows, and real-time production requirements.
Understand and work with animation within an Unreal Engine production pipeline.
Ensure animation communicates the intended story, emotion, personality, and character behaviour.
Study reference material and apply appropriate acting and movement to characters.
Maintain consistency in character movement, acting style, proportions, and performance throughout sequences.
Work closely with the Storyboard, Concept, Layout, Rigging, Lighting, Compositing, and Creative teams.
Review animation shots and make corrections based on creative feedback.
Identify technical and artistic issues within animation shots and resolve them effectively.
Ensure shots meet the required quality, continuity, and production standards.
Provide guidance, feedback, and support to junior and mid-level animators.
Assist the Animation Lead/Director in maintaining the overall animation quality and visual style.
Participate in animation reviews, creative discussions, and production meetings.
Take ownership of assigned shots and ensure timely completion without compromising quality.
Follow established production pipelines, naming conventions, file structures, and technical requirements.

Unreal Engine Knowledge – Required
The candidate must have practical knowledge of Unreal Engine, including:
Working with animated characters inside Unreal Engine.
Understanding of Sequencer and cinematic animation workflows.
Importing and integrating animation assets into Unreal Engine.
Working with character rigs and animation assets in Unreal.
Understanding of real-time animation and playback.
Basic understanding of Unreal Engine cameras and cinematic sequences.
Ability to troubleshoot basic animation-related issues within Unreal.
Understanding of how animation interacts with lighting, camera, environment, and other departments within an Unreal production pipeline.
Knowledge of Control Rig, MetaHuman, Motion Capture, or Unreal Engine animation tools will be an added advantage.
Technical Requirements
Strong proficiency in professional 3D animation software such as Maya, Blender, or equivalent.
Practical working knowledge of Unreal Engine is required.
Strong understanding of animation rigs and working with complex character rigs.
Ability to work efficiently within a professional 3D production pipeline.
Familiarity with animation tools, graph editors, keyframe workflows, and animation cleanup.
Understanding of Unreal Engine's Sequencer and real-time workflow.
Basic understanding of lighting, camera, layout, and rendering workflows will be an advantage.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of professional experience in 3D animation.
Strong portfolio/showreel demonstrating professional-quality character animation.
Practical knowledge of Unreal Engine and real-time animation workflows.
Excellent understanding of acting and visual storytelling.
Ability to independently handle shots from blocking to final animation.
Strong understanding of character performance and body mechanics.
Strong attention to detail and consistency.
Good understanding of cinematic composition and camera language.
Ability to understand and interpret storyboards and creative direction.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under production deadlines.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to mentor and guide junior artists.
Passion for animation and commitment to maintaining high creative standards.
