About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Company Description HeyEV is building the operating layer for electric mobility in India, integrating assets, financing, technology, and service into a single platform. The company connects EV assets, leasing and financing, IoT-driven intelligence, and service infrastructure to support drivers, gig workers, fleet operators, OEMs, dealers, NBFCs, and mobility platforms. By lowering financing costs, reducing defaults through smart asset control, improving supply chain efficiencies, and enabling technology-driven income streams, HeyEV helps local drivers access productive EVs and build better livelihoods. With a strong focus on India’s last-mile and gig mobility economy and thousands of micro-entrepreneurs already supported, HeyEV aims to become the largest asset-access and leasing platform powering India’s gig economy. The company’s mission is to make EV mobility more accessible, reliable, and scalable while powering the people who move India.
Role Description The Legal Counsel will provide comprehensive legal support to HeyEV’s operations, partnerships, and strategic initiatives as a full-time, on-site team member based in Delhi, India. Responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements with drivers, fleet operators, OEMs, financial institutions, and service partners. The role involves identifying and managing legal risks, advising on regulatory compliance related to mobility, finance, technology, and data protection, and supporting the development of policies and internal governance frameworks. The Legal Counsel will collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, operations, product, and partnerships) to structure deals, resolve legal issues, and support new business models in EV leasing and asset management. They will also manage relationships with external legal firms when required, and contribute to training and awareness on legal best practices across the organization.
