Senior SAP Basis Administrator

Role Description The Senior SAP Basis Administrator role is a full-time, hybrid position based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, with flexibility for some work-from-home. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing and maintaining SAP systems, including installation, configuration, monitoring, performance tuning, and upgrades. Day-to-day responsibilities include system administration, user and role management, transport management, and ensuring high availability and reliability of SAP landscapes. The Senior SAP Basis Administrator will perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting for system issues, collaborate with functional and technical teams, and coordinate database administration activities in alignment with Basis best practices. The role also involves ensuring adherence to security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of SAP operations and standards.
Qualifications
Strong SAP Basis and Basis Administration skills, with experience managing complex SAP landscapes.
Proficiency in System Administration and Troubleshooting, including performance tuning and root cause analysis.
Hands-on experience with Database Administration in SAP environments (e.g., HANA, Oracle, SQL Server).
Experience with system installations, upgrades, patches, and transport management in SAP environments.
Knowledge of SAP security, backup, recovery, and high-availability concepts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8+ years of experience in SAP Basis roles, including senior-level responsibilities and stakeholder collaboration.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Experience with cloud-hosted SAP environments and automation tools is an advantage.
