About the Company
Our client, a European biotechnology company specializing in fermentation and process solutions, is looking to hire a Process Automation Engineer to join their growing team in India.
This role can be based in Mumbai or work from home anywhere in India. It involves approximately 50–70% travel to customer sites and reports to the Country Technical Head.
About the Role
The Process Automation Engineer will assess and support automation systems and digital solutions across industrial sites (bioethanol plants), implement and optimize process monitoring and control, troubleshoot automation issues, and collaborate with regional and technical teams while traveling extensively to customer locations.
Responsibilities
Assess and support automation systems, instrumentation, and technical capabilities across industrial sites.
Implement digital solutions to improve data connectivity, process monitoring, and optimization.
Analyze process data to improve efficiency, reduce costs, minimize waste, and enhance operational reliability.
Troubleshoot automation and control-related issues and recommend corrective actions to minimize downtime.
Support the implementation of digital and automation solutions at customer sites and provide technical training when required.
Collaborate with regional and technical teams on data dashboards, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in process automation, preferably within bioethanol, fermentation, or similar process industries.
Strong proficiency in PLC and DCS programming, with hands-on experience in automation and control systems.
Good knowledge of SCADA, HMI, OPC-DA/OPC-UA, and Data Logger/Data Historian systems.
Good understanding of process control and instrumentation, including PID/cascade control and industrial sensors.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Willingness to travel extensively within India, with occasional overseas travel.
