About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Web Developer IEWD035 E-commerce, Funnels & Checkout Infrastructure
Build fast. Protect what’s live. Own the technical quality behind every conversion.
Job Snapshot
Position: Web Developer
Focus: E-commerce, Funnels & Checkout Infrastructure
Location: Remote
Compensation: $1,500–$3,000 USD/month
Employment: Full-time/contractor
Industry: Pet Wellness / DTC E-commerce
We’re looking for a Web Developer who can turn briefs, designs, and campaign requirements into polished, responsive, conversion-ready experiences while owning the technical infrastructure behind our pages, funnels, checkout, and subscription systems.
Success isn’t simply “the page is built.” It means the page ships on time, looks right, works across devices, tracks correctly, and is ready for paid traffic without surprises.
About the Company
We’re a fast-moving, performance-driven Pet Wellness DTC e-commerce business where web development directly impacts revenue.
Our website infrastructure supports paid advertising, product launches, CRO tests, checkout flows, and subscription customers. A broken checkout can cost revenue. A delayed landing page can hold up a campaign. Poorly implemented tests can produce unreliable data. Slow or broken mobile experiences can waste paid traffic.
We need someone who understands that responsibility and takes ownership of the finished result.
The Role
You’ll own the technical implementation and ongoing quality of our web and checkout ecosystem, including:
Sales and landing pages
Product pages
Custom checkout experiences
Funnel architecture and page connections
Subscription experiences
CRO test implementation
Mobile responsiveness and page performance
Integrations, tracking, QA, maintenance, and bug fixing
You’ll work across Shopify, CheckoutChamp, Gempages, and Funnelish, treating them as one connected revenue system.
Marketing owns the strategy and copy. The CRO/Media Buying team owns test hypotheses and performance analysis.
You own making sure the technical execution works.
Responsibilities
1. Build & Launch Pages on Time
Build sales pages, landing pages, and product pages from approved briefs, designs, copy, and campaign direction.
You’ll be responsible for delivering pages that are:
Responsive
Visually polished
Brand-aligned
Conversion-focused
Technically reliable
Ready for paid traffic
You should be able to estimate work realistically, communicate timelines, and flag blockers before they become missed deadlines.
2. Own Checkout & Funnel Reliability
Build and maintain custom checkout experiences and the technical connections between pages.
You’ll ensure:
Redirects work correctly
Payment flows function properly
Tracking fires accurately
Subscription flows work end-to-end
Integrations remain connected
Funnel logic functions as intended
Customers can move smoothly from first click through conversion
3. Maintain the E-commerce Stack
Own the day-to-day technical implementation across:
Shopify
CheckoutChamp
Gempages
Funnelish
Maintain configurations and integrations while proactively identifying technical risks before they become revenue problems.
4. Implement CRO Tests
Turn approved CRO hypotheses into clean, measurable test implementations.
You’ll ensure variants are built accurately, tracking is reliable, and active experiments aren't compromised by undocumented or unauthorized changes.
5. QA & Protect Live Infrastructure
Your responsibility doesn’t end when a page goes live.
You’ll:
QA across devices and browsers
Check mobile responsiveness
Monitor page performance
Troubleshoot bugs
Maintain existing infrastructure
Validate tracking and integrations
Fix post-launch issues
Protect active tests and live revenue pages
When you say a page is ready for traffic, the team should trust that it is ready.
What Success Looks Like
You’re succeeding when:
Projects consistently launch on schedule
Pages are polished and responsive before launch
Checkout and funnel flows work reliably end-to-end
Mobile performance is strong
CRO tests are implemented accurately
Tracking and integrations work as expected
Post-launch bugs are minimized through strong QA
Technical and deadline risks are surfaced early
Stakeholders know project status without chasing you
Live pages and active experiments are handled carefully
The standard is simple:
When you say something is ready for traffic, it should actually be ready for traffic.
Required Experience
This role is best suited to a mid-to-senior Web Developer who can execute independently within an established e-commerce environment.
You should have:
Strong experience building responsive, conversion-focused web pages
Hands-on e-commerce and/or direct-response funnel development experience
Experience building and customizing product and checkout experiences
Strong understanding of mobile responsiveness and cross-browser QA
Experience with integrations, tracking, redirects, and funnel logic
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills
High attention to visual detail and brand consistency
Ability to estimate work and consistently meet deadlines
Strong written communication in a remote environment
Good judgment around live-system changes and technical risk
Strong preference for candidates with experience in Shopify, CheckoutChamp, Gempages, Funnelish, or comparable e-commerce/funnel platforms.
Tools & Environment
Our core stack includes:
Shopify
CheckoutChamp
Gempages
Funnelish
Tracking and conversion integrations
Subscription and payment infrastructure
CRO testing tools and workflows
Project and communication systems
You don’t need years of experience with every platform.
You do need the technical ability to understand how the systems connect and take ownership of the ecosystem as a whole.
Compensation
$1,500–$3,0000 USD/month
Final compensation depends on experience, technical ability, platform familiarity, and demonstrated ownership.
This is an opportunity to own web infrastructure that directly affects revenue rather than simply completing disconnected development tickets.
Hiring Process
Application → Initial Interview → Practical/Test Task → Final Interview → Offer
We care less about buzzwords and more about how you:
Think through technical problems
Build
QA
Troubleshoot
Communicate
Manage deadlines
Take ownership
Who Thrives Here
You’ll thrive in this role if you:
Take deadlines seriously
Have a high standard for what you ship
Notice visual and technical problems before someone points them out
Think beyond “it works on my computer”
Communicate blockers early
Enjoy figuring out how platforms and integrations connect
Can work with Marketing, Media Buying/CRO, and Operations
Treat live pages, active experiments, checkout infrastructure, and tracking carefully
Follow projects through after launch
Prefer ownership and autonomy over constant supervision
Who Will Struggle
This role probably isn’t right for you if you:
Regularly need reminders to meet deadlines
Go quiet when a project falls behind
Need detailed instructions for every implementation decision
Consider QA someone else’s responsibility
Make casual changes to live pages or active tests
Build technically functional pages without caring how they look
Prefer narrow ticket execution over ownership
Struggle to communicate technical risks early
We want someone we can trust with infrastructure that generates revenue.
Application
If you’re a Web Developer who wants to own more than code and can take responsibility for the quality, reliability, and on-time delivery of the pages behind a growing e-commerce business, we want to hear from you.

Please include examples of pages, funnels, e-commerce experiences, or checkout flows you’ve built. Where possible, explain what you personally owned on each project.
We’re not hiring someone just to build pages.
We’re hiring someone we can trust when those pages go live.
Due to the volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
