IoT Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IoT Engineer with 2–5 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, integrating, and deploying end-to-end IoT solutions.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working across IoT devices, sensors, embedded systems, communication protocols, APIs, cloud platforms, databases, and backend systems to build reliable IoT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, integrate, and deploy end-to-end IoT solutions.
• Work with IoT devices, sensors, actuators, microcontrollers, and edge devices.
• Develop solutions using ESP32, ESP8266, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, or equivalent platforms.
• Implement communication using MQTT, HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, BLE, Wi-Fi, Modbus, and other IoT protocols.
• Develop reliable device-to-cloud communication and data transmission.
• Integrate IoT devices with REST APIs, backend services, databases, and cloud platforms.
• Work with AWS IoT, Azure IoT, Google Cloud, or equivalent platforms.
• Develop and maintain IoT data pipelines for collecting, processing, and storing device data.
• Develop or integrate IoT monitoring dashboards for device status, sensor data, alerts, and performance.
• Troubleshoot hardware, firmware, connectivity, network, API, and data-related issues.
• Perform testing, debugging, validation, and deployment of IoT devices and applications.
• Monitor deployed devices and identify connectivity, performance, and data accuracy issues.
• Implement device authentication, secure communication, and basic IoT security practices.
• Work with Linux-based systems and edge computing environments.
• Maintain technical documentation related to IoT architecture, devices, APIs, configurations, and deployments.
• Collaborate with backend, software, AI/ML, and operations teams.
• Evaluate new IoT technologies and recommend suitable hardware, protocols, and platforms.
Required Skills & Experience
• 2–5 years of professional experience in IoT development or integration.
• Strong understanding of IoT architecture and device-to-cloud communication.
• Hands-on experience with ESP32, ESP8266, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, STM32, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong knowledge of MQTT and REST APIs.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE, and HTTP/HTTPS.
• Programming experience in Python, C/C++, or Embedded C.
• Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, GPIO, UART, SPI, I2C, and serial communication.
• Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or equivalent databases.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, or another cloud platform.
• Good understanding of Linux and command-line tools.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good to Have
• AWS IoT Core or Azure IoT Hub experience.
• Experience with LoRaWAN, Zigbee, NB-IoT, 4G/5G, or cellular IoT.
• Experience with Node-RED, Grafana, or similar monitoring platforms.
• Experience with edge computing and Raspberry Pi/Linux-based gateways.
• Knowledge of Docker and containerized deployments.
• Understanding of IoT security, authentication, encryption, and secure communication.
• Experience with OTA firmware updates and device management.
• Exposure to Edge AI / AI at the Edge.
• Experience in industrial IoT, logistics, asset tracking, fleet monitoring, or supply-chain applications.
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, IoT, or a related field.
• Strong hands-on IoT project experience will be considered an advantage.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be able to independently understand and implement the complete IoT flow:
Sensor/Device → Embedded System → Connectivity → MQTT/API → Edge/Cloud → Backend → Database → Dashboard/Alerts
The candidate should be comfortable working across hardware, firmware, networking, cloud, and software integration, rather than focusing on only one component.
