Vice President of Engineering

Role Description The Vice President of Engineering is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the engineering organization, setting technical direction, and driving delivery of high-quality software products. This role oversees engineering teams, mentors engineering leaders, and ensures alignment between engineering initiatives and business objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining and refining engineering processes, collaborating closely with product and operations stakeholders, prioritizing projects, and managing resources to meet deadlines and quality standards. The Vice President of Engineering will establish best practices for software development, ensure robust system architecture, and promote continuous improvement in reliability, security, and performance. This role also involves recruiting and developing talent, fostering a healthy, inclusive engineering culture, and monitoring key metrics to ensure scalable, sustainable growth.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Engineering Management and Team Leadership, including leading multi-disciplinary technical teams and developing engineering managers.
Strong background in Software Development and Product Development, with experience delivering complex, high-quality software solutions and influencing technical roadmaps.
Proficiency in Project Management, including planning, prioritization, risk management, and cross-functional coordination to deliver initiatives on time and within scope.
Ability to define and implement engineering best practices, including architecture standards, code quality, testing, security, and observability.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders in a remote environment.
Proven experience building and scaling distributed or remote engineering teams while promoting inclusion, transparency, and psychological safety.
Strategic thinking and data-informed decision-making, with familiarity in using metrics and KPIs to guide engineering and product outcomes.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience in senior engineering leadership is beneficial.
