Key Responsibilities
Develop, configure, and maintain APIs and integration services for SAP applications.
Design and implement RESTful and OData services based on business requirements.
Develop and enhance integrations between SAP and external/non-SAP applications.
Work with SAP S/4HANA and other SAP systems to expose and consume APIs.
Develop and maintain API interfaces using appropriate SAP integration technologies.
Troubleshoot API failures, integration issues, authentication problems, and data inconsistencies.
Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support UAT activities.
Collaborate with functional consultants, business analysts, and technical teams to understand integration requirements.
Prepare technical specifications, API documentation, interface mappings, and test cases.
Monitor API performance and resolve production issues within agreed SLAs.
Support API enhancements, version upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.
Follow SAP development standards, security guidelines, and integration best practices.
Required Technical Skills
2–3 years of experience in SAP API / Integration Development.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs and OData services.
Good knowledge of JSON, XML, HTTP/HTTPS, and API communication protocols.
Experience with SAP S/4HANA integration.
Knowledge of SAP BTP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI) is preferred.
Understanding of API authentication mechanisms such as OAuth 2.0, Basic Authentication, and certificates.
Experience working with SAP Gateway and OData services.
Basic knowledge of ABAP and SAP technical architecture.
Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or similar tools.
Good understanding of integration troubleshooting, logging, and error handling.
Knowledge of SAP API Management is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
Exposure to SAP BTP and SAP Integration Suite.
Experience with API Management, security, throttling, policies, and API lifecycle management.
Knowledge of SAP Cloud Connector.
Exposure to enterprise integration patterns and middleware technologies.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and documentation skills.
