Role Description The AI Engineering Apprenticeship at LUNARTECH is a part-time, remote role designed for emerging AI practitioners seeking hands-on experience with production-grade systems. Apprentices collaborate with engineering and data teams to support the design, implementation, and testing of AI solutions, including generative models, AI agents, and supporting data infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with model evaluation, documenting workflows and experiments, contributing to small project components, and helping optimize pipelines under guidance from senior engineers. Apprentices participate in standups, share progress updates, and coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure work aligns with project goals and timelines. The role emphasizes learning, mentorship, and developing practical skills that can be applied across LUNARTECH’s products and programs.
Qualifications
Strong Communication skills for collaborating in distributed teams, documenting work clearly, and presenting insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Demonstrated Analytical Skills for problem-solving, interpreting data, evaluating model behavior, and breaking down complex technical challenges.
Basic Project Management capabilities to organize tasks, manage time effectively, track progress, and contribute to coordinated delivery within multi-step AI projects.
Foundational Manufacturing Engineering knowledge for understanding production environments, process optimization, and systems thinking in applied technology contexts.
Fundamental Mechanical Engineering understanding to reason about real-world systems, constraints, and applied engineering principles where AI integrates with physical processes.
Exposure to programming or scripting (e.g., Python) and interest in machine learning or AI engineering; familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) is advantageous.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, receive feedback constructively, and adapt to a fast-paced deep-tech environment.
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree, bootcamp, or structured program in engineering,
