Role Description The AI Engineering Apprenticeship — LUNARTECH is a part-time, remote role designed for individuals seeking practical experience in building production-grade AI systems. Apprentices collaborate with engineering and data teams to support the design, development, and evaluation of AI models and pipelines, including tasks such as data preparation, model experimentation, documentation, and testing. Daily work may include assisting in model deployment workflows, contributing to internal tools and prototypes, and participating in project stand-ups, code reviews, and technical discussions. Apprentices are expected to follow structured learning paths, receive mentorship from experienced AI engineers, and contribute to real-world projects across domains such as healthcare, telecom, energy, and education. The role offers exposure to modern AI engineering practices, deep-tech product development, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-moving startup environment.
Qualifications
Strong Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to collaborate effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
Robust Analytical Skills for problem-solving, quantitative reasoning, data interpretation, and evaluating AI model performance.
Foundational Project Management skills to organize tasks, manage timelines, document work, and coordinate with mentors and stakeholders.
Background or strong interest in Engineering disciplines such as Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, with a willingness to apply engineering thinking to AI systems and automation challenges.
Basic knowledge of programming (e.g., Python), data science, or machine learning concepts; familiarity with version control (e.g., Git) is beneficial.
Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and adapt to new tools, frameworks, and workflows in a startup environment.
Relevant academic pursuit or degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or a related technical field is preferred but not strictly required.
