Lead Data Scientist, Geo Incrementality Testing
About the role
We are hiring a Lead Data Scientist to own the statistics behind that product and the tests we run with it. You will design tests that clients can actually run, decide whether they are worth running, and defend the results.
What we are looking for
7 years applying causal inference to real marketing or business decisions, with at least two years designing and reading geo experiments.
Hands-on with at least two of: GeoLift or augmented synthetic control, difference-in-differences and event studies, matched-market or matched-pair designs, CausalImpact or Bayesian structural time series.
Comfortable in Python or R for modelling and in SQL for pulling and validating panel data.
Clear writer and presenter. You can tell a marketing director that their preferred design has a 12 percent MDE and what that means for their budget, without hiding behind jargon.
Sceptical by default. You look for spillover, seasonality, structural breaks and data gaps before you trust a lift number, and you say so when a test should not run.
Nice to have
Marketing mix modelling experience (Robyn, PyMC-Marketing, Meridian or in-house), especially using geo test results to calibrate priors and validate channel contributions.
Bayesian modelling in PyMC, Stan or NumPyro; conformal inference; randomisation inference for small-cluster designs.
Agency or consultancy background, where you have run the same method across many clients and know which failures repeat.
