Role Description
The Admissions Counselor is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai, responsible for guiding prospective learners through the admissions process. Day-to-day tasks include responding to inquiries, conducting counseling sessions, explaining program offerings, and supporting applicants in understanding admission requirements and timelines. The role involves participating in outreach activities, such as campus events, school visits, and information sessions, to attract suitable candidates. The Admissions Counselor will maintain accurate records of leads and applications, coordinate with academic and administrative teams, and contribute to admissions strategies that align with Athena’s mission. This position requires consistent interaction with prospective learners, families, and partners to ensure a welcoming and informative admissions experience.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Communication and Communication skills to effectively engage with prospective learners and stakeholders.
Candidates should possess Customer Service skills to provide responsive, supportive, and professional assistance throughout the admissions process.
Candidates should possess Sales skills to convert inquiries into applications and enrollments in an ethical and consultative manner.
Candidates should possess Education-related understanding or experience, preferably in higher education or management programs.
Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Psychology, Communications, or a related field.
Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, manage multiple tasks, and use CRM or admissions management tools efficiently.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Prior experience in admissions, counseling, or student-facing roles within educational institutions is an advantage.
